I'm in the process of working on two quilts... A hand pieced Hexi Quilt and a quilt made of Half-Square Triangle. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has 2 or more projects going on at once!
If you've been on Modern Day Mummying then you would see that I've been working on a hand pieced Hexi Quilt for a few weeks now. It's a long process but one that I'm enjoying very much! I'm up to my 21st 1 1/4" flower! Not long before I actually piece them together!

I have started on a new quilt this weekend. A machine stitched one so this it should take me no time at all! I've fallen in love with Domestic Bliss by Moda and have decided to make a Half-Square Triangle Quilt with a few of the Domestic Bliss Charm Packs!
This is the first time I'm attempting this and it looks simple enough... and guess what! It is pretty simple! I matched it up to some natural looking quilting cotton that I bought by the metre at Spotlight and cut it up into 5" squares. Putting the pieces together is easy peasy, especially if you have all the tools you need handy! The only thing you have to worry about when making this quilt is what pattern are you going to sew the pieces together?!
May I just say that the 4 1/2" square ruler is the best invention since sliced bread! I love it! It has made this whole cutting squares thing such a breeze and I know that each square is EQUAL! Something that's kind of important if you're like me and need everything to match to a tee or if you want your quilt to work out according to instructions!
Well I must get back to it... Stay tuned to see how the Half-Square Triangle Quilt comes together... And after that I still have the 'Trade Winds' and 'Good Fortune' Moda Charm Packs to create with...
Ohhh... The possibilities!
